It must be below freezing on the surface. Saltwater lasts longer because it freezes at lower temperatures. They are usually used for packaging seafood.

First, check to see that all the electrical connections are seated correctly. Turn off the water supply valve, slide the refrigerator out of the wall, and disconnect the power supply. On the freezer’s back wall, look for the quick-release plug. To ensure it is fully connected, unplug and reconnect the connection.
