Types of Guitars
Following are a few classifications of guitar that need to be understood by every music player and singer to record the music with proper tones:
- Acoustic Guitar
One of the most common guitars in the market and traditional guitar is acoustic guitar which has hollow bodies from the inside that are responsible for amplifying the sound of strings acoustically. In most cases, we will find the body is made up of wood only and has six strings. It comes in various shapes and sizes but the functionality is the same as the normal guitar like symmetrical guitars and others may have cut-way which means a certain part of the guitar has cut away which will allow us easy access to higher frets. Some acoustic guitars have steel strings which are used for music like folk, blues, rock, and country while nylon strings are more suitable for classical and flamenco guitars.
- Electro-Acoustic Guitars
In the past few years, we have seen the growth of electro-acoustic guitars which have a microphone built-in with them so that it can be easily plugged into any amplifier. It will make the tone of the guitar louder than normal guitars. Electric guitars are well suited for situations when we are doing any live show because they produce a loud sound. By using these guitars, music players do not need to go around and put a mic in front of the guitar to capture the tone. The structure of the guitar is slim and can easily be used by any instrument.
- Bass Guitars
In the past, we have seen the use of bass guitars and in recent days we may not see so much use of those guitars because they are too big and heavy. It was used in orchestras and jazz bands but in recent concerts, we may or may not find it too useful but produces good bass. In bass guitars it only has four strings and these strings are thick which produces a thick and strong sound.
